Explaining that the rates of rhinoplasty surgery, called rhinoplasty, are increasing every year, Op. Dr. Yusuf Orhan Uçal answered the questions you didn’t think to ask before rhinoplasty surgery but are most frequently asked after surgery.

“What Happens If I Sneeze?”

Stating that interesting questions also come from patients during this process, Dr. Uçal explained the effect of sneezing during the healing process and said the following:
Patients are warned not to do activities such as blowing their nose for several weeks after rhinoplasty surgery. However, it is not possible to prevent sneezing. If you have chronic allergies, a medication may be recommended to control your allergies after surgery. If you need to sneeze, it is sufficient to keep your mouth open to limit the amount of pressure on your nose. Sneezing usually does not cause any problems with your surgery.

Is Nosebleed a Big Problem?

You will get information about this before surgery. Usually small bleedings and leakages are insignificant and considered normal. However, if there is excessive bleeding, there may of course be a problem.

What Should I Eat After Rhinoplasty Surgery?

Although there is no specific diet you need to stick to, it is best to avoid spicy foods first and foremost. Since you are more prone to nausea, light foods are wise immediately after anesthesia. You should also not forget that we recommend soft foods on the first day.

The splint on the nose is removed on the 7th day after surgery and a bandage is applied that will remain for about 5 days. There is no harm in wearing makeup after the splint is removed.
